“WE WON! A $26 MILLION VERDICT. The white supremacists who conspired to commit racially motivated violence at the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville in August 2017 are finally being held accountable. A victory we’ve been working toward for four years. A case I feel like I’ve grown up with.
Soon I’ll write more about this truly unbelievable experience, but the only thing I can sort out in my brain now is how much I love and respect the people in this photo. The plaintiffs of Sines v. Kessler. This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But experiencing it with people who understand—who understand what it is like to live with what happened on A11 and A12. Who understand this case and its importance. It kept me together. THEY kept me together. Because they are so brave, I could be, too. The most inspiring, kindest people who I am lucky enough to call friends.
This was a team effort, and we have the world’s best team. Our attorneys, Integrity First for America, our entire legal and security teams—they made this happen. I’ve never seen people work harder, ever.
This is a win for our team, a win for everyone harmed by the defendants in this case, and it’s a win for all of us, period.
