#LGBTHistoryMonth is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. It was founded in 1994 by Missouri high school history teacher Rodney Wilson.

The NAACP defends the civil rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals of all colors. In order to understand this, we need to understand the term of intersectionality – the combination of races, classes, ages, and genders that make up our unique identities (and how they tend to compound inequity and so on).
